Meet the Team

Becks has been qualified as a chartered physiotherapist longer than she would like to admit....
She qualified from Birmingham University in 1999, and has since worked in a variety of clinical roles both in the UK and abroad. She predominately specialises in musculoskeletal treatments and has been working in the private setting for over 10 years. Becks uses a combination of manual techniques, exercises, education, acupuncture, clinical pilates and kinesiology tape to rehabilitate patients back to good health.
As an outdoor sports enthusiast Becks has practised yoga for over 10 years to help keep her injury free! Since meeting her current teacher, friend and mentor, Tracey, she has gone on to complete the British Wheel of Yoga teaching diploma and is bringing her physio knowledge to the yoga studio.
I met yoga when I met my first teacher - Ester- over 30 years ago. As a fresh faced youth I forayed into my local village hall for evening classes in Iyengar Yoga. I left forever changed - she made my body, mind and spirits soar into happiness! I have chosen to follow this path ever since.
My first career as long-haul cabin crew with British Airways taught me the world and enabled me to visit teachers of all styles, shapes and sizes. Whether a dusty hut in the middle of no-where, mountain top or beachside in a pristine studio - yoga was for all - and it made me smile!
I formalised my career in the UK and have been learning yoga ever since. I also chose to heighten my body studies with massage and pilates. I teach with love, honesty and happiness. Tru Yoga in Alnwick gives me the opportunity to provide a place of growth and learning for those who share my love of all things yoga, and to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those who wish to learn and play.
Tracey
Claire initially came to yoga during a stressfull time in her life, and soon discovered both the physical and psychological benefits. Yoga allowed her to learn to breathe properly and release anxiety as well enjoying to stretch and move the body.
Having benefitted from going to a regular yoga class, Claire stopped yoga for a long period after having her first son. When she returned to practicing yoga her then toddler loved to join in. This lead Cliare to discover the benefits of yoga for kids and she has since completed the 'YogaBugs' kids training course.
Claire now enjoys teaching kids of all ages, especially big kids! She has practise and learned from a variety of traditions and uses a combination of these styles in her own teaching.
Claire encourages her students to listen to their own body with a focus on breathing and alignment. Her classes are calm, friendly and suitable for people of all levels.

Virginia has made Northumberland her home for over 40 years. She hails originally from Belfast and as a young girl she was interested in the arts, particularly dance. During the late 60's she came across Yoga and Buddhist meditation while travelling and living in India.
